Camp 69 - Eval Prep and Dryland Conditioning Camp August 24 – 28 U7, U9, U11, U13 & U15

Eval Prep and Dryland Conditioning Camp August 24 – 28 U7, U9, U11, U13 & U15 (Terwillegar Arena C)

I look forward to again firing up our popular evaluation prep camps! We want the kids to be fully prepared for tryouts and ready to hit the ice in top form!  The camp's focus is skills based and getting back the skating legs and feel for the puck. We will also break in all that new gear on the ice while also getting the kids in hockey shape with on-ice and off-ice workouts each day. The week begins with power skating (forwards, backwards, transitions, stopping, acceleration, jab stepping, edge control) before transitioning during the middle of the week to puck handling, passing, and shooting. The focus of the Thursday ice time is to familiarize the players with the skating drills they will be performing during evaluations and to fire up small area games in preparation for puck races and battles. Each group will use the 50-minute dryland workout to build up a combination of endurance, balance, strength, and flexibility while also mixing in some fun team challenges in the fields adjacent to the rink. All dryland workouts will be age appropriate and emphasize fun while challenging the kids to push themselves and compete. The cost of the camp is $225 plus GST ($236.25).

In years past we have had different mixes of skaters and I will do my best to shift groups and accommodate friend requests and sibling requests.  We will seek to keep these camps at a high tempo and will group the skaters into small groups based on their skill level.  With an hour of ice each day, our focus is to maximize our ice time by challenging the skaters' conditioning levels while also concentrating on instructional points.
