Stickhandling, Shooting and Scoring Camp August 19th-23rd (U9 and U11 Kinsmen Arena 'A')
A fast paced week of fun to sharpen up the stick skills in the middle of the summer! The players will be challenged to push themselves out of their comfort zones when carrying pucks all over the ice. The focus will be to improve each individuals puck handling, shooting and passing skills. Players will complete a variety of on ice drills while recieving feedback on technique and pace. We will be excited to build confidence with puck handling in small spaces, strengthening backhand dexterity, increasing puckhandling diameter, and overall dynamic puck control using all parts of the stick blade and skates. Even more fun will be the time spent working on improving shot strength, quick release, back handers, changing shooting angle and improving accuracy. All exercises will be completed with proper technique before increasing the speed of the drill. The kids will get to use all the latest hockey contraptions and targets to keep things fun!
Schedule (August 19th - 23rd Kinsmen Arena 'A')
Ice: 1:30pm-2:30pm
Dryland: 2:45pm-3:30pm
After the ice time we will get the kids out into the green space adjacent to the rink with their sticks and gloves and work the group through an assortment of drills, games and challenges to build upon what we've worked on during the ice time. The players will have the chance to work with a variety of off-ice stickhandling, shooting and passing devices to develop hand-eye coordination and feel.
The cost of the camp is $190 plus GST ($199.50).
