Bantam Contact, Compete, and Conditioning Camp August 19th-23rd at Kinsmen Arena

An introduction to contact for high level Bantams and a tune up for fall tryouts for skaters looking to prepare themselves for the 2019/20 season.  We will begin the week with a mix of controlled contact and skating/skills drills before elevating the speed and intensity of the exercises as the week progresses.  The focus will be on preparing players for checking while covering how to initiate contact, how to protect yourself on the ice, body and position awareness, and competitive skill development. The intensity of the skates will slowly dial up each day of the week, culminating in a full speed, full contact atmosphere by the end of the camp.  After completing the on ice workout each day, the skaters will be put through an age specific dryland workout for an hour with our resident fitness specialist. Players who are entering their second year of Pee Wee hockey and are interested in learning contact hockey skills are welcome to participate in this camp with instructor approval.

Summer Defenceman Camp-August 12th-16th Terwillegar Rink C

I am excited that we will again offer a defenceman camp for Atoms and Pee Wees who are excited about learning the intricacies of playing the position. The reason I get so excited about defence camps is because it gives me a chance to really "geek out" on a lot of the little things kids can do to help them get better at playing defence. I am hoping to keep this group as small as possible (15-18 skaters) so that we can have a lot of time to talk through the drills on the ice and discuss why we are doing them. As instructors we enjoy getting to know the kids and the small groups allow a lot of one-on-one time with the players. We will cover all aspects of the position from walking the blue line, defensive angling, offensive angling, stick position, using the body, breakout progressions, controlling net front sticks, pinching, reverses, using your partner, agility, mobility, and on and on!

Spring 3on3

I'm excited to announce the follow up to our inaugural 3on3 season from last year! This season we look forward to running four different age groups that will take to the ice for 20 sessions beginning in mid April and ending June 2nd (primary rinks Confederation, Terwillegar and Kinsmen). Of the 20 ice times; 12 are straight one hour games while the other eight sessions run 1.25 hours, combining 30-40 minutes of skills development with 30-40 minutes of 3on3.

Summer Half Day Camp August 6th-9th Callingwood Arena

Our summer half day camp is a four day, mid summer blast of action designed to shake off that mid summer rust and get the kids moving! Each day participants will gear up for a morning ice time combining skating and skills drills.  The focus of the morning sessions will be on core skill development and enhancing the kids ability to pass, shoot and handle the puck at high speed.  After the fir st ice session and a quick snack/lunch our fitness and dryland specialist will challenge the group each day with strength, speed, agility and flexibility training between the two on ice workouts.  The afternoon ice times will consist of competitive games, small area games, and puck races to promote the kids conditioning levels and puck strength.
